Family Fundraiser at Notts County

The Danielle Beccan Memorial Trust has been boosted by £500 from Notts County FC.

The club presented the cheque to the trust before the game against Stockport County on 5th November 2005.  The Magpies won the money in the pre-season Bass Charity Vase competition - and chose to donate it to the Trust.
Club secretary Tony Cuthbert said; "We were all shocked and horrified at what happened to Danielle..  Like most we are a community club and parts of our community have suffered greatly with the loss of Danielle, so we felt it appropriate if we could support the fund."

Notts County presents a cheque for £500
Notts County FC have already helped the trust by offering free use of a function suite.  They also plan to host a half-time collection at the match against Mansfield in March.

David Mellors, president of the Bass Charity Vase, presented the cheque to members of Danielle's family.  Danielle's mother Paula Platt, her sister Yasmin, brother Joshua and her grandma Shernette Muir were all at the presentation on Saturday.

Mrs Platt said: "It is fantastic having backing from something as high profile locally as Notts County.
The memorial fund total is now at a fair few thousand but there is still a long way to go.  The efforts of all the fund-raisers to date have been staggering. What they are doing will benefit not just a few people, but a whole community."
